SAS Director

Cassie Sadowsky

Cassie Sadowsky is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 20 years experience in supervising early intervention programs for children aged 18 months to 18 years. Cassie received her bachelor’s degree from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC and her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI.

Prior to establishing her practice in Missouri and Kansas, she worked in the field of applied behavior analysis in North and South Carolina, California, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Additionally, Cassie worked as a classroom consultant training teachers and school personnel. Her special interests include play skills and potty training.

Sadowsky Autism Services (SAS) began as a business in Stafford, Virginia during the summer of 2010.

Cassie’s family moved from Madison, Wisconsin earlier that summer following Mark’s tour as an Assistant Professor and Cassie earning her Master’s Degree, both at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Cassie arrived in Virginia in 2010 as a credentialed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), but her experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) started almost 15 years prior, and included work developing and delivering ABA services in North Carolina, California, and Wisconsin.

In 2014, Cassie and her family moved to Kansas City, started the practice in Missouri and then Kansas, and opened her original therapeutic clinic in Platte City.

Cassie observed ABA practices, services and approaches in multiple settings over many years in the field.

These years of careful observation, evaluation, and comparison led Cassie to believe that she could provide services that were more individualized, targeted, and effective than what she had seen to date.

The final decision to open SAS was made following a visit with our newborn daughter to our primary care manager at a civilian facility in Virginia earlier that summer.

That experience was so bad, so frustrating, and so typical of the care that military members were afforded at that time that Cassie knew it was time to start her own program–”we could do better.”

Current Day in Kansas City

Following Mark’s retirement from the Marine Corps in 2017, Sadowsky Autism Services migrated out of our home office and into a professional office suite in Parkville, MO. We also established a Center facility in Platte City, MO and expanded our military service locations to include Fort Riley, Fort Leavenworth, Fort Leonard Wood, and Whiteman Air Force Base.

SAS also began an aggressive in-house training program to take Registered Behavior Technicians from our staff and to develop them into BCBA supervisors. This developmental process ensured that we would have enough supervisory staff for the future and to help develop fully-trained professionals in the field.  We trained and assisted nine BCBAs in their professional development, licensing and credentialing in the field.

In July of 2020, we purchased our current building in Platte City where we perform our Center-based services and house our administrative and logistical staff.

Cassie’s unique approach and philosophy were developed over her long service in the field. She spent the last 25 years working directly with children and their families in a wide variety of settings.

She has never been an administrator, a researcher, or worked for an insurance company or school district. All of her practical experience was earned out in the field, on the front lines with the most challenging of cases, and at the point where she felt that she could make the greatest impact.

She is a practitioner, a teacher, a role model and, in a field where experience is often measured in months, a truly experienced professional. Cassie knows every client, every family, every household pet, and every challenge. She drives over 40,000 miles a year due to check in with clients and their families, to see our Case Managers, and to support our Registered Behavior Technicians. She is available to every employee and every family at any time of day or night.
